Well.....I do have a 1010 and it does print test pages.After messing about with it yesterday I managed to print a few pages of good stuff,e-mails etc,then it went back to printing test pages every time I pressed PRINT.In between,I got a printed page which said' Unsupported Personality:PLC'I googled that and wished I hadn't,as it is a whole new minefield.

It seems to me that the problem still revolves somehow round the age and in HP terms, obsolescence of my printer regarding compatibility with Windows 7 although I find it strange that I can get it to work some of the time,but not others,after much' Troubleshooting of Printer 1010',use of Microsoft Fixit,etc..

Anyway,I will keep on trying although I am starting to agree with Homer Simpson's remark that trying is the first step to failure....may have to visit Mo's Tavern for a few Duff Beers for inspiration .

Another possibility is to abandon 1010 and try to use another printer,HP desktop F4280.My daughter has one,unused,but without any leads/adaptors to my computer.I think I can buy these if I explain what I need?
