One of our customer is having a requirement to increase the maximum filesize limit to 2GB of a particular filesystem in HPUX? (without downtime & without losing data). His query is as follows:
Linux Max Files Open
You can identify which processes have open files on a given device (instead of using intuition and frantic 'phone calls!) by using the fuser(1M) (10.20, 11.x) command. Fuser will list the process ids and usernames of processes that have a given file open and can even be used to automatically kill the identified processes. Maxfiles_lim specifies the system hard limit for the number of file descriptors that a process is allowed to have for open files at any given time. It is possible for a nonsuperuser process to increase its soft limit up to this hard limit.
'Can you please make all the /db02 filesystem as big file system?
Currently it doesn't allow growing a single file larger than 2G '
Please let me know wheather it is possible in HPUX. If Yes, please let me know the steps.
I have shown you some results about that filesystem in the snippet.
